Executive Director Glow initiative for Economic Empowerment
Glory has over 5 years’ experience working with Nigerians to bring solutions to Economic Problems. She’s the Founder and Executive Director of Glow Initiative for Economic Empowerment, a Non-profit seeking to combat poverty and unemployment to boost the economic development of Nigeria in order to attain a sustainable economy. She’s the founder of Climate Smart Nigeria (CSN), set up with a 10 year goal to combat environmental problems like climate change by spreading its awareness and subsequently curb illiteracy by investing in Climate Literacy Programs and to promote the intervention of renewable energies all geared to attain a Climate Smart Nation (with at least 70% climate aware Nigerians) and sustainable economic development by the year 2026. She has authored 4 books – Something is happening; our world is changing – for secondary school students – The Concept and Science of Climate Change – for the general adult public with the goal of promoting awareness of the economics of climate change and sustainable development. A short thriller story – The Year Ran Mad – which depicts the impact of climate change on livelihood (Agriculture) Illustrated accordingly for kids in the primary school and a short novel – The Girl who saw tomorrow – which delves into the reality of climate change and why it must be taken seriously. In 2015, she received President Obama’s Mandela Washington Fellowship Award and was selected as one of 500 out of 80,000 applicants to participate in President Obama’s Mandela Washington Fellowship for young African leaders. She has been opportune to speak on Economic growth, Sustainable Energy and Climate Education in many countries. Her work has been featured in magazines, websites and TV programs. Glory’s skills, dedication, and passion has fetched her over 10 local and international Awards and recognition which include the Nigerian Energy Prize from the Nigerian Energy Awards and Named as one of the foremost women in Renewable Energy in Nigeria
Alice Adedayo Ige
CEO , African Energy Advocacy Initiative
Ige, Alice Adedayo is a renewable energy professional, who advocates to advance the delivery of clean energy options in Africa and also provide innovative techniques, she is the co-founder and CEO of African Energy Advocacy Initiative. Adedayo is currently the Renewable Focal Point for Eco-System Based Adaptation for Food Security Assembly (UNEP; EBAFOSA), Nigeria. She knows what truly drives innovation in the Agricultural sector-fomenting partnership with farmers, institutions and complementary Ministries like the Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Environment to provide agricultural zones off-grid with clean energy options and provide technical support for design and installation of solar pumps for irrigation. Adedayo has worked as Events Coordinator with Globally Igniting Africa, GIA and an intern with the National Geosciences Research Laboratories, NGSA, the Nigerian Television Authority, NTA and AIESEC, Accra-Ghana. She is an active volunteer and has volunteered for many causes, which includes Innovation for Empowerment and Development, IFED and Beyond the Class room Project, Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library-Youth Development Centre and Roborave Nigeria teaching kids robotics as she is passionate about STEM ( Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education. Adedayo holds a B.Sc in Physics from Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto, Nigeria, a certified telecommunication power systems Engineer and Solar Energy Systems Engineer. She is a member of the Energy Institute and alumnus of prestigious Graduate Engineering Training Scheme, GETS under the Royal Academy of Engineering, UK, Energy Institute and Lonadek, and she is also an alumnus of Daystar Business School.
