Founding Board Chair, Greentopia
Lisa Baron is a graduate of the University of Rochester and the State University of New York at Buffalo, Faculty of Law and Jurisprudence. She retired from the practice of law to devote her time to serving the community on several boards and advisory teams. She is the founding board chair of Greentopia and organization dedicated to the redevelopment of the Rochester High Falls District into a green, sustainable neighborhood through extraordinary ecological design, stewardship, and community outreach. Lisa is also a member of the board of the Susan B. Anthony Museum and House and is part of the advisory team planning for 2017 and 2020. She is also currently a member of the University of Rochester National Council for Arts, Sciences, and Engineering and is deeply involved in Boy Scouts having served on major fundraising committees, founded the first Cub Scout Pack at the Harley School and is an active volunteer with her son’s city Troop 37. Lisa resides in Irondequoit with her husband Jack and their son Jackson who attends the Harley School. They also have two adult daughters and recently welcomed their first grandchild.

Ben Gibson leads innovation and transformation driving growth in revenue, earnings and cash flow through broad experience in strategy, R&D, engineering, operations, quality, marketing, and information technology. While Ben has demonstrated success with large organizations like GE Aerospace, Eastman Kodak, Logitech Audio, and IBM, he has also worked with entrepreneurs and startups including HardLightVR, a Seattle Start-up recently spun out of the University of Rochester. Ben is a technology agnostic problem solver and knows how to manage the marketing and technology nexus to drive innovation. Ben has mentored award winning Entrepreneurship teams at both the University of Rochester as well as SUNY Geneseo. By leading the historic restructuring of R&D at Eastman Kodak Company, Ben gained invaluable experience with Intellectual Property optimization by working with lawyers and financial analysts on patents and contracts. From an operational perspective, Ben has developed robust cash flows and improved earnings in very difficult business circumstances. His understanding of how to analyze a market and customer needs, contracts, operations, finance and cash has extended the life of start-ups and established companies alike. Ben lives in Rochester, NY and is married with three adult children, He received a BS in Electrical Engineering from Syracuse University and is a Six Sigma Black Belt.

Jenny C. Servo, Ph.D. is the President and founder of Dawnbreaker, a company which specializes in providing commercialization assistance and Phase 0 proposal preparation services to small businesses with funding through the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs. Since 1990 Dawnbreaker has worked with over 8,500 projects funded by SBIR and STTR awards. The services provided have helped contribute to over $2.5B in Phase III funding. Dawnbreaker currently has contracts with the Department of Energy, the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Transportation, the Small Business Administration and the National Science Foundation to provide commercialization assistance and proposal preparation services to small businesses that meet agency criteria.

Hult Prize 2017 Semi-Finalist (Top 8)
Omar Soufan got his biomedical engineering degree at the University of Rochester and is currently pursuing a master's degree. He was a semifinalist with his Team Meliora project in the Hult Prize Competition. He is also the co-founder of Prosthesis for a New Syria, a clinic in Lebanon that offers free prosthesis for Syrian refugees.

Program coordinator, NEXUS-NY, High Tech Rochester
Devin Sandon serves as the program coordinator for NEXUS-NY, a NYSERDA funded, HTR operated, cohort based, clean technology proof of concept center. Since 2014 NEXUS-NY has 39 early stage New York state companies of whom 29 have graduated. Among the graduates, fifteen have raised $32.1M, while seven have achieved some initial sale of product.
